From Asia Minor to Anzac - The Odyssey of Peter Rados, Neos Kosmos

Private Peter Rados and his battalion, the 3rd Battalion AIF, on the Turks Head peninsula, Lemnos, 1915. AWM
Neos Kosmos recently published my article on Private Peter Rados - the only WW1 Anzac of Hellenic descent to fight and be killed at Gallipoli.
Research has revealed that he was from Artake (modern day Erdek), on the south coast of the Propontus or the Sea of Marmara. He is buried at Anzac Cove on the Gallipoli peninsula - not too far from his home in Asia Minor.
The publication of this story is also timely given the fundraiser dinner dance being held at the Pontiaki Estia, Sydney Road, Brunswick, this Friday evening. Funds raised will help fund our memorial statue project. Details for the fundraiser can be found by clicking here.
