This is an advance notice of the forthcoming Lemnos Gallipoli fundraising event, the launch of our historic photographic exhibition - Lemnos and the Anzacs 1915 - A Story in Pictures.
Details for this event are currently being finalised.
It will feature beautiful reproductions our selection of some of the best photographs taken by the Anzacs on Lemnos in 1915. These will showcase how these young soldiers and nurses experienced the Isalnd of Lemnos in 1915 - both as they coped with the ravages of war and as they enjoyed brief periods of respite.
It will also showcase some of the best images of local Lemnians in the Lemnos Gallipoli archive. We have been granted special permission to reproduce these images.

The exhibition also plans to include a number of original paintings by Melbourne artist, George Petrou, on the Lemnos Gallipoli theme. More details of these great new paintings soon.
The exhibition will also feature an explanatory guide book, explain the background to the photographs - including the story of some of the photographers, the stories of some of the diggers and nurses who came to Lemnos, and more.
This event will take the form of a cocktail party and will be held in coming weeks.
This will be one of the landmark commemorative events of the year and should not be missed by all interested in the Lemnos Gallipoli story.
Event details will be announced shortly.
