Ballarat's Memorial - Pompey Elliott

Last weekend I had the opportunity to view the above memorials in Ballarat - erected along the large median strip in the middle of the main street. A memorial that took my eye was that to Brigadier General Pompey Elliott. As the commander of the AIF's 7th Battalion, Pompey had assembled at Lemnos prior to sailing for the Gallipoli peninsula.
The best biography on Pompey Elliott is by Ross McMullin, published in 2002.
For a short biography of Elliott's life click here.
Below are my photographs of  the memorial to Pompey Elliott.
