19 April 1941 - Larissa falls

On this day in 1941, Larissa - and its airfield - was captured by the German invasion forces in Greece.
The newly formed Anzac Corps Headquarters were moved to Levadia. Overall Allied Headquarters under General Wilson were located at Thebes.
